Driving Coach, Porsche Experience Center Los Angeles
Reports to: Chief Instructor, Assistant Chief Instructor, PEC Account Lead
Background
The Porsche Experience Centers (PEC) are a brand immersion destination for automobile enthusiasts. They offer the ability for guests of all ages to take in the heritage of the brand, experience the Porsche lifestyle and the thrill of the drive, allowing Porsche to build connections with people from all walks of life.
There are two Experience Centers in the United States, in Atlanta and Los Angeles. Guests visit the PEC primarily to engage in driving experiences behind the wheel of a Porsche vehicle on a purpose-built driver development track.
Além Werks is contracted by Porsche Cars North America (PCNA) to deliver the management of core operations for the PEC: drive, logistics, event coordination and customer experience.
Position Objective
The role of the Porsche Driving Coach (“PDC”) is to deliver a highly tailored driving experience to guests at the Porsche Experience Center. PDC responsibilities will include working with guests to discern goals of their attendance and adapt PEC curriculum to match that goal. They will also instruct guests on how to operate the vehicles used and explain technology feature/benefits as needed. They will instruct guests on proper driving techniques. Most importantly, they will help ensure that best practices are always utilized for the safety of guests, themselves and others at the facility. Finally, they will work to ensure that Porsche the most aspirational brand in the USA.
Responsibilities
- Meet with guests at appropriate time for appointment and make them feel at ease
- Discuss operational procedures with guest to ensure proper safety while driving
- Work with guest to understand their goals and objectives
- Adapt curriculum to match these goals and objectives
- Instruct guests on how to operate a variety of Porsche models
- Explain technology features / benefits as needed for each model
- Instruct guests on proper driving techniques appropriate to each module
- Ensure in every way possible the guest’s comfort and enjoyment of their experience
- Report pertinent customer information and stories back to PEC management
- Stay current at all times with brand and product information
- Be aware at all times and operate within guidelines set forth in Instructor Operations Manual
- Coach primarily from the right seat while displaying confidence and focus
- Understand your social responsibility when instructing/communicating with guests
Qualifications
Education:
- High school diploma required.
Experience (Job and Industry):
- 5+ years advanced driving instruction – road racing experience a plus
- 2+ years working with premium brands
Skills:
- Comfortable demonstrating driving techniques on both high-grip and low-grip surfaces
- Excellence in communication within a variety of environments
- Ability to demonstrate leadership within a team environment
- Ability to identify a wide range of personality types and adapt in a very short period of time to ensure a successful driving session
